This Communities in Canada Past and Present Bundle is a comprehensive resource addressing the revised 2018 Ontario Social Studies Curriculum for Grade 6, Strand A. Students are provided with many opportunities to explore the experiences and perspectives of diverse communities in historical and contemporary Canada, and how they contributed to the development of Canadian identity. Particular attention is paid to the issues and perspectives of Canada’s Indigenous community, which is emphasized heavily in the revised curriculum. I have worked with an experienced teacher in the area of Indigenous education as I revised these units. This bundle contains five sections, which you can take a closer look at by clicking on the links above.
