This La Nouvelle-France et L’Amérique du Nord britannique 1713-1800
Partie 1: Introduction à la pensée historique unit is meant to support the Grade 7 Ontario Social Studies strand of the same name. This particular version of the original resource is set up with all student texts translated into French, while teacher lesson plans are in English.
Part 1 introduces students to five “Concepts of Historical Thinking”, in order to help them think as the young historians they are becoming! The 5 concepts developed in this mini-unit are:
• Historical Significance
• Historical Evidence
• Historical Perspectives
• Cause and Consequence
• Continuity and Change
Each of these concepts is the focus of a lesson plan, with each of the 5 lesson plans including:
• Detailed 3-part lesson plan
• Learning Goal Poster
• Concept of Historical Thinking Poster
The concepts introduced in this unit will be consistently reinforced in future sections of what will eventually be a larger bundle. As this is, indeed, an introduction, some of the material covered in this unit will review material that students may have been exposed to in the Grade 5 unit: First Nations and Europeans in New France & Early Canada FRENCH BUNDLE
Please Note: This resource is the first in what will eventually be a set of Grade 7 History resources. You may want to “Follow Me” on TPT to receive email notifications when I upload new content!
