How much do your students know about the provinces and territories of Canada? Scoot is a fun way to find out! This activity was created to support the Grade 4 Ontario Social Studies Curriculum, and is ideal to use for review at the end of a unit, or as a diagnostic tool to assess how much your students know before they begin learning about Canadian geography at any grade level. This particular version has student questions and graphic organizer in French, while the teacher instruction sheet is in English, making it perfect for French Immersion classrooms.
Provinces et territoires du Canada Scoot includes 30 different cards, each containing a question about Canadian geography. One card is placed on each student’s desk, and students are given a response sheet to record their answers. Students rotate from desk to desk reading each question and recording the answer in the appropriate location on the sheet before the teacher yells “SCOOT”, which is the signal to move to the next desk. Everyone will know the game is over when students end up back at their own desks.
